Terms of Service

Version 2026-10-draft-2 · Questions: privacy@leighnibor.com

1. Who we are

Wealth Guardrail (“Guardrail”, “we”, “us”) is a personal finance app made by Leighnibor Academy, a division of [Leighnibor Inc., a corporation in the Province of ______, Canada]. These terms are an agreement between you and us about your use of Guardrail.

2. What Guardrail is, and what it isn't

Guardrail helps you record your income, spending, debts, accounts and goals, and build the habits and limits (“guardrails”) that help you reach those goals. It includes an AI Money Coach.

Guardrail provides education and coaching, not financial advice. We are not a bank, a registered financial planner, an investment advisor or dealer, a credit counsellor, a licensed insolvency trustee, an accountant or a lawyer. Nothing in Guardrail, including anything the Money Coach says, is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold a particular investment or financial product, or tax, legal or insolvency advice. For decisions like those, speak to a qualified professional.

Guardrail works from the information you enter. Its figures, reports and suggestions are only as accurate as that information, and they may contain errors. You are responsible for your own financial decisions.

3. Your account

  • You must be at least the age of majority where you live to create an account.
  • Give us accurate details, keep your password private, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
  • One person per account. Partners each have their own account and can link them (see section 5).
  • You must confirm your email address before using Guardrail.

4. Your information

You own the information you put into Guardrail. You allow us to store and process it only to run Guardrail for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can delete your account and its information at any time from Settings → Security & privacy.

5. Partners

You can link your account with your partner's account. A link only takes effect once both of you have added each other. Linked partners share the custom categories they create; neither can see the other's transactions or accounts. Either of you can unlink at any time.

You can also record a partner's or joint items inside your own account. If you do, you are responsible for having their agreement to record that information.

6. The Money Coach

The Money Coach is an AI system. How it works, what it receives and the notes it keeps are explained in Money Coach and AI Features, which forms part of these terms.

7. Acceptable use

Don't use Guardrail to break the law, to store other people's information without the right to, to try to get into accounts or systems that aren't yours, to interfere with the service, or to copy or resell it.

8. Plans and payment

  • Free and Plus. Guardrail has a Free plan and a paid plan, Guardrail Plus. What each includes, and the Free plan's monthly limits, are shown on the Plan & billing page and on our website. Plus covers you and the partner you link with.
  • Price and renewal. Plus is billed monthly or yearly in Canadian dollars, at the price shown when you subscribe, and renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. We will tell you at least 30 days before a price change applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.
  • Payment. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number.
  • Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from the Plan & billing page. Plus continues until the end of the period you have paid for and then does not renew. We don't refund part-periods, except where the law requires it.
  • Failed payments. If a payment fails, Stripe retries it for a short time. If it still can't be collected, your account moves to the Free plan; your information is kept.
  • Never charged without asking. We never move you onto a paid plan automatically. During the private beta everyone has Plus at no charge. People who join during the beta are founding members: they keep Plus free for a period after the beta ends, which we announce in the app in advance, and if they then choose Plus they keep a founding-member discount for as long as their subscription continues.
  • Moving to Free. If you stop paying for Plus, nothing you have entered is deleted; features beyond the Free plan's limits pause until you subscribe again.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep Guardrail available and your information safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or end features. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will ask you to accept the new version before you continue using Guardrail.

10. Liability

[To be drafted by counsel: disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability to the extent permitted by applicable law, including consumer protection law in your province.]

11. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Guardrail and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

12. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of [the Province of ______] and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Questions: privacy@leighnibor.com.
